Description
The intersection of Forest Hill Ave. and W. 33rd St. features a clearly-painted crosswalk. However, cars traveling in both directions on Forest Hill routinely either do not see or do not correctly interpret this crosswalk, traveling at high rates of speed through it. I am writing to request that the city investigate whether this part of Forest Hill Ave. would be a candidate for a speed control measure, and/or that the city install crossing signs, ideally with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons.

Comments
- Staff · October 18, 2023Cityworks ID: 513615
- Staff · October 24, 2023The Fire Marshall supported one raised crosswalk on Bainbridge St near Carter Jones Park but did not support any additional raised crosswalks or speed tables on the Forest Hill Ave / Bainbridge St corridor since this functions as a strategic route for emergency vehicles. A Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon on Forest Hill at 33rd St is a capital improvement and not budgeted at this time.
