Description
Cherokee Rd west of Huguenot Rd in its entirety is a portion of the city's mapped bicycle "Route One". It is used to many cyclist's enjoyment but there are no bike lanes or warning signs along the way. Cherokee road is narrow curving and hilly road and of course there is no shortage of cars speeding along. Over the years many accidents with cyclist and a few fatalities also. The neighborhood residents have seen many near misses and many examples of poor driving judgement on the road.

He shared with me the Cherokee Rd crash history which included zero bike or pedestrian involved since 2015. His recommendation was to contact the Richmond Police Department for enforcement. The City will collect speed samples to determine if speed tables are needed.
