Description

We need a flashing pedestrian walking sign for a few reasons… • I’m almost always hit when walking the crosswalks here during the morning and afternoon rush even when one lane stops • people drive over the speed limit 40mph + in a 25mph zone • the sun blocks drivers view of crosswalk in the early am rush • this is a school zone and I constantly see students running across to avoid traffic

    DPW is not recommending to pursue flashing lights (RRFB’s) at Monument and Allen given: - No reported pedestrian crashes in the last eight years - The huge capital investment the City made with the modern roundabout which built: o Splitter islands o Better defined crosswalks (Much less exposure with the shorter distances to reach an island refuge) o Pedestrian crossing signs
