- Staff · October 17, 2023The 85th percentile speed, the speed that 85 percent of drivers travel at or below, is one of the best indicators of a reasonable and safe speed. The 85th percentile speed on Rogers St between Phaup St and Fairfield Ave for a 48 hour period averaged 24mph. This sample is in compliance with the posted 25 mph speed. The Transportation Engineering Division is not recommending a speed table. The City Transportation Engineer referred the Rogers St speed table request (since it is a request for Capital Improvement funding) to the Department of Public Works’ Capital Improvement Plan Coordinator for consideration in the next Plan. DPW staff spoke with the requestor. They plan to gather names on a petition for a speed table and present to the Council Representative for this area.
