Description

Brookland Park Ave (Chamberlayne > east) is in need of traffic calming measures (curb bumpouts, chicanes, etc) due to consistently fast driving speeds >25 mph with failure to yield to pedestrians and other roads users. Crosswalks are not well marked or nonexistent, and drivers do not yield to those with right-of-way. Recommend repairing and expanding sidewalks particularly between Chamberlayne and Richmond Henrico Turnpike where the greenway is.

    Speed tables are not planned for Brookland Park Blvd which carries over 8,200 vehicles a day, classified as an urban minor arterial and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles. This new sidewalk request will be entered into the project tracking database to be reviewed for next year’s budget.
