Description

All the trees on the Capitol grounds are surrounded by "volcano mulching". This means that mulch is sitting right against a tree's trunk, leading to increased moisture that will cause the trunk to rot. It seems that some trees in the Capitol are dying (not just because autumn is coming), so I suspect the volcano mulching pattern is the cause of the issue. I suggest moving all the mulch to about 6 inches away from the base of the tree. See image.
