Description

Please install a stopsign on McCloy St. at the intersection with Maplewood. Children need to cross the street here to get from the Stadium neighborhood to Cary Elementary. Right now, it is very unsafe for pedestrians to cross the street here. It would also be nice to have a crosswalk button that signals cars to slow down when someone is waiting to cross. I hope the city takes action on this before a child gets seriously injured or killed.

    The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection does not currently meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. Crosswalks exist on both McCloy and Maplewood.
