Description

Speeding is rampant on the 2000 block of Westover Hills Blvd. It occurs in both directions, both heading down toward the river and going up the hill to the bridge entrance. I have had several vehicles hit and damaged. One or two speed tables(humps) would be helpful. This request is for the 2000 block of Westover Hills Blvd. This is the portion of Westover Hills Blvd that diverts from the bridge approach, goes down to the buttermilk trail entrance and then circles around to combine with Evelyn Byrd road and Riverside Drive. Take a look at a map. This portion of Westover Hills Blvd is a relatively narrow two lane road. It has no centerline marking. It in no way carried about 8500 cars a day.

Westover Hills Blvd is classified as an urban principal arterial, carries around 8500 vehicles a day and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles. The City Fire Marshall will not support speed tables on this street leading to one of the few James River crossings. DPW will upgrade and add speed limit signs.
