Description
I've seen a lot of close calls recently while home more at the intersection of R St and 20th. School buses use R St and people walk R St consistently throughout the day...Cars go really fast on 20th, and for some reason a ton of people do 180 turns and donuts in this intersection... Speed bumps would be great but a 4 way stop would be ideal. A few weeks ago cop cars with lights and sirens on were going down R St and it was a amazing there wasn't an accident...a car was going SO FAST on 20th.

- Staff · September 13, 2023The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of R St and 20th St does not currently meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. R St in this area between Mosby and 22nd St is approximately 1300’ and stops at Mosby, 20th, 21st and 22nd. Speed tables are not planned on these short street sections.
