Description

The intersection of N 25th St and E Clay St is prone to vehicle accidents and is not safe for pedestrian crossing (no crosswalks). Cars parked close to the intersection impede the sight for vehicles in both directions. Curb bump outs with colored/textured crosswalks at this intersection would improve sight lines, slow oncoming vehicles, remind crossing vehicles to fully stop, and improve safety for pedestrian crossing without the need to install another stoplight on this section of 25th St.

Traffic calming is not planned on 25th St since it carries around 4,000 vehicles a day and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles. No parking signs are installed on 25th St on all legs at Clay St to enhance intersection sight distance.
