Description
Intersection of 32nd & Marshall is hazardous and should be considered for a 4 way stop. It is very difficult to cross Marshall due to low visibility with both restaurants on the corner. I have seen many near accidents involving both cars and pedestrians at this intersection. With the volume of people at this intersection between Alewife, Grisette, and the school a block away, there should be better traffic control for cars and a more visible pedestrian walkway.

- Staff · July 25, 2023The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection does not currently meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. An eight-year crash search revealed no reported pedestrian crashes at Marshall and 32nd St. No parking signs are planned on Marshall at the intersection to enhance intersection sight distance.
- Staff · August 1, 2023Field visited. No park corner clearance signs exist on Marshall St.
