Description

Coming down from Church Hill towards VCU hospital on E Broad St bettween 18th & 17th Street, can we add a No Left Turn at least during rush hours? There are multiple people that try to take a left into that gas station during rush hours and it creates additional unneded traffic. The Same goes for the 17th St @ E Broad St. People wait there to make a left during rush hours and it is creates huge traffic. I think that this can help a lot with our rush hours traffic.

Dear Citizen, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern. We reviewed your request to add No Left Turn restrictions at Broad St & 17th St and 18th St during rush hours. We have been monitoring this location periodically since September 2023 to assess traffic flow and congestion. There is already a No Turn on Red sign at Broad St & 18th St to help manage traffic. Our traffic analysis from 2023, 2024, and 2025 shows no further action is needed at this time. Traffic demand at Broad St & 17th St does not currently warrant restricting left turns. I am closing this service request, but we will continue monitoring and reassess in six months. Please feel free to reach out with any further concerns.
