Description
This request submitted OBO citizen Nyla Tilman of 915 E 15th. Tilman received a Notice of Deficiency from this office (CE) requesting removal of obstructing vegetation behind her property and abated voluntarily. In the course of discussing the Notice she asked if we could do anything about a similar issue at Maury Cemetery, where trees and bushes were blocking the lane that her family used to visit their mother's grave. --- M. - Staff · June 23, 20236/2/2023: Found the lane quite overgrown. Large limbs growing into the lane at eye level and below. Photos attached in a PDF; see "Inspection Results"
- Staff · June 23, 20236/6/2023: Spoke with Jim Laidler (646-1402), cemeteries supervisor for Parks & Rec. Explained the issue and described the location. He said it would probably take a while, he is under-staffed. Will FLW (follow up) in 2 or 3 weeks.
- Staff · June 23, 2023A lot of pruning has been done and looks like all the obstructing bushes are cut. But the cut brush piles remain. It has been raining several days which probably interrupted the work. GW will FLW next week to get a clean photo & close request.
- Staff · July 20, 2023Passed follow-up inspection. Closing request.
