Description
The new playground is great. However, deivers speeding down w.29th st are going to kill someone- likely a child at tue playground. W.29th street needs: 1- traffic calming me mechanisms upon entry to it from Bainbridge St, -speed bumps immediately in front of the playground, 3- vehicle barriers in front of the playground (planters/j.walls), 4- improved “one-way”/“wrong way” signs going south along w.29th st. Happy to chat/share camera footage. Thanks for the help.

- Staff · January 12, 2024W 29th St is one-way westbound between Bainbridge St and Semmes Ave, measures about 1450’ with stops at Perry St and at Semmes Ave. Appropriate Do Not Enter signs exist at intersections. Planters or barriers at the park side are not currently planned. W. 29th St between Bainbridge St and Perry St measures about 700’. W. 29th St between Perry St and Semmes Ave measures about 700’. The minimum street section measurement for consideration of a speed table is 1200’ of free follow traffic. Given the stopped condition at Perry St and the distance between stops DPW is not planning a speed table on W. 29th St.
