Description
As a residence of 3605 brook rd with children that attend veritas, were having a hard time with drivers acknowledging the yield sign to pedestrians that is there. Its become a serious safety concern and drivers will not stop even if we’re in the middle of the road in the crosswalk and pointing to the current signage. Its a heavy commuter traffic time (745-8am) and If we arent requiring drivers on brook to slow down during school hours, how do we protect pedestrians, specifically our young.

- Staff · April 22, 2023Eddie, please investigate.
- Staff · April 9, 2024School flashers on Brook Rd that activate and show reduced speed zones at school activities including short times before school opens and after school lets out is a tool to advise motorists to legally slow down during these times. DPW has communicated to Veritas School several times on our policy that Veritas must pay for the flashing school zone speed limit signs. DPW will work with Veritas’ consultant and contractor to ensure the plans and the flasher locations are at the optimum location.
