Description

The intersection of richmond henrico turnpike and brookland park is extremely dangerous. There needs to be some way to slow traffic on this stretch of brookland park. A four way stop sign intersection would drastically improve safety in this area. The posted speed limit is 25 mph but people regularly exceed speeds of 50 mph. I live a few houses down from this intersection and I am scared to cross the street because people have no regard for pedestrians in this area.

DPW must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. All-way stops are not planned since Brookland Park Blvd and Richmond Henrico Turnpike does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements.
