There are two federally funded projects currently under design phase to improve pedestrian crossing safety along W. Main Street and Cary St via the installation of curb extensions that will improve visibility of pedestrians in marked crosswalks. This project includes design for the installation of curb extensions along W. Main Street on the upstream side of each unsignalized intersection between S. Arthur Ashe Boulevard and S. Belvidere Street.
