Description
The right turn only lane here is used as a passing lane for automobile drivers operating their vehicles faster than the speed limit. Is there a way to enforce traffic behavior here so that the road isn't taken over by drivers operating at speeds greater than reasonable? Possibly a road design change to naturally curb the speed of drivers. The road necks down to 1 lane each way at the bridge, is there even a need for a second lane in each direction here? There are also reports of street racing.

- Staff · April 5, 2024Improvements on Huguenot Rd in this area are not in the draft 2025 Capital Improvement Plan. DPW will plan to install a Right Lane Must Turn Right sign near the first right turn arrow pavement marking to give more notice of the NB lane drop. You may want to contact the City Police Dept about vehicles using the right turn lane for passing.
