Description

This intersection is the first that doesn't have a stop sign before the road transitions to no stop signs. Every day, I hear 2-3 people almost get into a wreck. Folks don't know whether they're supposed to stop, or they're just blowing through it -- way faster than 25 mph. there is TWO schools less than 3 blocks away and many children walking around

The latest four years of crash data (1.1.20-12.31.23) from DMV does not show any reported crashes at Leigh St and 30th St. The Department of Public Works must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of Leigh St and 30th St does not meet the traffic requirements for an all-way stop. Furthermore, the MUTCD states in Section 2B.06 “Yield or stop signs shall not be used for speed control.”
