Description

Traffic coming over hill on Cherokee towards both Chellowe and Tanglewood pick up excessive speed and make it dangerous for walkers and drivers entering from either Chellowe or Tangelwood. Another table/speed bump or stop signs are needed since this is a very residential area with homes, churches and a school.

    Speed evaluation done in Summer 2024 showed that speeds average at 27mph and the 85th percentile of speed reaching 32mph. A speed table currently exists between Meridale and Chillowe. Fortunately, Cherokee Rd is not on the High Injury Network. There are no plans at this time for new traffic calming projects in this immediate area.
