Description
Despite the several roundabouts and pedestrian yield signs, cars speed down this stretch of Jefferson Ave up to 25th St and do not stop for pedestrians trying to cross Jefferson Ave, which is already a very wide street. With all of the pedestrians getting hit by cars (and some killed) in other areas of the city, this is very dangerous and scary as a pedestrian trying to walk from my home to local businesses along Jefferson Ave.

- Staff · April 22, 2023Eddie, please coordinate with the RPD.
- Staff · March 22, 2024The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Calming is not planned in the immediate are of the traffic signal at Marshall/21st St/Jefferson: - Traffic signal at Broad about 350’ away. - Traffic circle at Jefferson/Clay/22nd about 400’ away. - All-way stop at Marshall and Cedar about 600’ away. - All-way stop at Marshall and 23rd about 550’ away. The latest three years of crash data (1.1.2015-12.31.23) from DMV does not show any reported pedestrian crashes in the area described above.
