Description
Cars drive too fast in all directions at the intersection of 21st, marshal, and jefferson. You can see that many are not in control of their vehicles while driving northbound as they have driven onto the sidewalk ramps so many times that there are tire marks all over it. Many small children and parents need to navigate these crosswalks and with the increasing pedestrian deaths in the fan, its urgent that this get in control before even more families are tragically and horrifically separated.

- Staff · April 22, 2023Eddie, please coordinate with the RPD.
- Staff · March 28, 2024The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section (straight section) without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Calming is not planned in the immediate are of the traffic signal at Marshall/21st St/Jefferson: - Traffic signal at Broad is about 350’ away. - Traffic circle at Jefferson/Clay/22nd is about 400’ away. - All-way stop at Marshall and Cedar is about 600’ away. - All-way stop at Marshall and 23rd is about 550’ away. The latest three years of crash data (1.1.21-12.31.23) from DMV does not show any reported pedestrian crashes in the area described above.
