- Staff · February 27, 2024The Department conducted 48-hour speed studies on P St and 31st St in 2023. Average speeds were 23mph on 31st and 25mph on P. 85th percentile speed, which is the speed at or below which 85% of the drivers are traveling. In many cases, the Department will consider strategies to influence the speed of drivers if the 85th percentile speed is 10 mph over the posted speed limit. In this case, the 85th percentile speeds were only 5mph over the posted speed limit. Traffic calming is not planned at this time. The Department will consider this area for treatments in Summer 2024, after the FY25 budget has been approved and announced.
