    Thank you for contacting the Department of Public Works. Your inquiry was received on 8/21/2024. Upon re-investigation, it has been found that the requested repairs are on private property. Persons who own or occupy property within the city are responsible for maintaining the sidewalk, public right-of-way, driveway apron, carriage walk, or grass strip adjacent to such property or unimproved street or alley. This includes the grass and or dirt area reported in your maintenance request; therefore, it was closed in compliance with the CODE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND; Chapter 11-ENVIRONMENT; ARTICLE IV REFUSE, LITTER, AND WEED CONTROL; Sec. 11-105(b)-Weeds and other vegetation.
