This intersection was a part of an existing CIP project. However, funding was cut and subsequently, the Spring St. portion was cut also. This intersection remains a priority and is expected to revisitedwhen additional funds become available. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. Public Works assesses requests as part of its long-term infrastructure planning for capital investment.Project funding has multi-year lead times prioritized by Mayor and the City Council. This data from this request will be retained for future Capital Improvement Program funding analysis.

Belvidere has a good coverage of speed limit signs. Traffic calming measures are not planned since it carries 24,000 vehicles a day and a strategic route for emergency vehicles. A pedestrian hybrid beacon is planned on Belvidere near the War Memorial. When activated by a pedestrian this device will stop all traffic when a pedestrian crosses Belvidere. This will impact speeds when pedestrians are present. The traffic signal at Belvidere and Spring was retimed last year. Also, retroreflective backplates for the traffic signal heads were installed to improve visibility. No additional measures are currently planned.
