This intersection remains a priority and is expected to revisitedwhen additional funds become available. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. - Staff · April 4, 2024Belvidere has a good coverage of speed limit signs. Traffic calming measures are not planned since it carries 24,000 vehicles a day and a strategic route for emergency vehicles. A pedestrian hybrid beacon is planned on Belvidere near the War Memorial. When activated by a pedestrian this device will stop all traffic when a pedestrian crosses Belvidere. This will impact speeds when pedestrians are present. The traffic signal at Belvidere and Spring was retimed last year. Also, retroreflective backplates for the traffic signal heads were installed to improve visibility. No additional measures are currently planned.
