Description

Speed Bump requested btw Northrop St and Dunston Ave. on W. Roanoke St. TREDS shows 8 crashes along this stretch since 2017, plus most recently on 11/14/22 hitting a tree and destroying a fence at 303 W. Roanoke St. This section is at the bottom of a hill in both directions, and on a curve. Speed limit is 25, but we frequently hear screeching brakes and speeds are frequently over 25 because of the curve and hill, and since it's the main traffic connection from Forest Hill Ave to Midlothian Tpk.

    The Fire Marshall will not approve a speed bump on Roanoke St between Semmes Ave and Midlothian Turnpike given the daily traffic of 8,000 vehicles a day and the functional classification of Urban OtherPrincipal Arterial.
