Description

A stop sign is requested on 29th st at the intersection with E Grace st. There is a significant number of children and pedestrians due to the playground and recreational facilities. However, there is no safe way to cross 29th st and it is often difficult to see traffic without stepping into the road due to the density of parked cars. There is also a lot if speeding in the area and it would help to have a speed control where so many children are.

The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) must be used to determine all-way stops needs. The intersection of N. 29th St & E. Grace St does not meet the traffic requirements of the MUTCD all-way stop warrants. DPW will plan to install playground ahead signs in both directions on N. 29th St.
