Description
All way stop is badly needed at the Lafayette and Wythe intersection. Cars are speeding down Lafayette through an area with heavy human traffic. Visibility is limited due to Stella's Restaurant and Stella's Market customer parking. Please be proactive and add the stop signs BEFORE someone is injured or worse. See attached pictures taken from Wythe facing East and looking South down Lafayette.

- Staff · November 22, 2022Findings and recommendations: - The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) must be used to determine all-way stops needs. The intersection of Lafayette St and Wythe St does not meet the traffic requirements of the MUTCD all-way stop warrants. - The latest seven year crash history did not reveal any reported crashes (all types and severities). - Lafayette traffic stops at Franklin and at Monument (about 730’). - A speed sample showed an 85th percentile speed and mean speed of 29mph and 25mph, respectively. - DPW will install 25mph signs on Lafayette in each direction between Franklin and Monument.
