Description

There is a tree in front of every house on my side of 1st Street, except ours. Shade would ameliorate afternoon heat. There was a shade tree in front of the house when this picture taken by John Zehmer was published in the 1978 survey "Jackson Ward Historic District," conducted for the City of Richmond. The pictures were processed by the city's Department of Planning and Community Development. My house is third picture from the top. Detailed image from page 175.
