Description
This intersection causes drivers confusion for a variety of reasons. I think it would benefit from all-way stop signs like most of the nearby intersections. As is, many drivers on McCloy stop in confusion while others drive through much too fast. I see parents walking children through here to Cary Elem during the school year and think the intersection would be much safer with all-way stop signs and improved crosswalk markings. I think Maplewood @ Freeman would be safer with all-way stops also.

- Staff · September 22, 2022The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federalpublication that applies to all streets open to pubic travel. The intersection of McCloy and Maplewood does not meet the conditions set forth in the MUTCD for an all-way stop.
