Description

People going to and from the James River Park System often speed on Scottview Dr. This is a danger considering the number of walkers, runners, and cyclists. I have lived on this street for 9 years and have had many scary interactions with drivers while walking my dogs. I feel that a couple speed bumps on Scottview Dr., between Longview Dr. and Bluff Dr. and a four way stop Bluff Dr. and Scottview Dr. would deter drives speeding through the neighborhood

All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The intersection of Scottview Dr and Bluff St does not meet these traffic conditions. 25mph signsexist on Scottview Dr. Speed samples are planned to determine if a speed table is justified.

Per speed count study, 85th Percentile speed was 28 mph. No physical traffic calming measures are planned at this time.
