Description

A new carwash has opened on the corner of Broad St. and Sauer Ave, which has dramatically increased through-way traffic. Our neighborhood has lots of children and pets. Cars now speed through on a daily basis, specifically southbound on Sauer, causing an elevated safety concern. Ideally a 4-way stop/stopsign would be added at the intersection of Sauer Ave and Fitzhugh Ave. Thank you.

DPW must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to allstreets open to pubic travel. This intersection does not have the volume conditions for an all-way stop. DPW will make sure 25mph signs are posted along the corridor.
