Description

In rhe Carytown South neighborhood, the streets that intersect with Parkwood Avenue should have “all way” stop signs. It is very hard to see if cars are coming with the current set up. You gave to pull out into the roadway just to try to see around parked cars. Also, many people who visit Carytown park in the neighborhood, so they are not familiar with the area. All-Way stops would help make driving and walking in our neighborhood a lot safer.

DPW must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to allstreets open to pubic travel. We have reviewed these intersections before and they do not have volume requirements to meet the MUTCD requirements for all-way stops.
