Description
E Clay St currently has NO stop signs for several blocks and only two poorly designed, often ignored roundabouts. The corner requested sits at the bottom of a hill w/o CROSSWALKS, and has VERY POOR visibility for cars crossing. We need NEW CROSSWALKS PAINTED and/or something to slow the traffic. Noting the 3 continuous stops signs on Leigh St. I cannot see how these all met MUTCD for stops. I am again requesting improved pedestrian safety on this corner.

- Staff · May 23, 2022The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federalpublication that applies to all streets open to pubic travel. The intersection of E. Clay St and N 27th St does not meet the conditions set forth in the MUTCD for an all-way stop. (Several of the area all-way stops were legislated by City Council.)MFR – See my email and prepare a sign work order.
