The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to pubic travel. This intersection does not meet the conditions set forth in the MUTCD for an all-way stop. Alsoreviewed by the City Pedestrian, Bicycle and Trails Coordinator. Given the limited traffic, narrow street with lower speeds, dead-end a half-block south, one-way traffic and available gaps in traffic there is minimal exposure with a single travel lane. Crosswalks are not planned at this time.
