Description
Zelkova serrata - last spring the tree failed to grow leaves on the right side facing the street. The bark at the base of the trunk is peeling back, a sign of disease. Where the trunk appears diseased is the part of the tree that feeds the branches that were bare. Last week a woodpecker started pecking at the tree and I believe that is a clear sign of disease.
