Description
I would like for there to be a clearer pedestrian right of way at the intersection of 23rd st, Jefferson, and Leigh. This area has heavy foot traffic, and at present there is no safe way to cross this street. If a pedestrian signal light is the best means to achieve this, I would like one of those installed, otherwise, I would like a 3 light traffic light at this intersection. It is very unsafe in its present form.

- Staff · October 19, 2021M All new traffic signals must meet the warrants in the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The intersection of Jefferson and 23rd St does not meet these traffic conditions for a pedestrian signal. Crosswalks are marked along the Jefferson corridor and work orders will be developed to refresh some of the markings. Phase II of Jefferson Ave street scape project is planned to complete the north side of Jefferson.
