Description
People on Perry are unable to see onto 30th to turn left, and cars constantly speed down the one way road (30th) as a cut through due to no stop sign here. Lots of children live on this block and it is extremely unsafe. I requested this in the summer and it was marked complete but no stop sign was ever added. They just came and added more one way signs but that is NOT the issue.

- Staff · October 1, 2021M The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to pubic travel. The MUTCD conditions are mainly about a combination of traffic on the free flow street and the stopped street. This is basically how the MUTCD warrant works: - The traffic volumes along the free flow street (major street) and the stopped street (minor street) must be at a certain level for each hour for eight hours of a week day to meet the requirements of the MUTCD all-way stop warrants. o Major street minimum requirement (total of both approaches) = 300 or more vehicles an hour. o Minor street minimum requirement (total of both approaches) = 200 or more vehicles an hour. - Both of these traffic conditions must be met. The intersection of Perry St and W. 30th St does not meet these volume conditions for an all-way stop.
