Description

Chamberlayne Avenue between Lombardy and Brookland Park Blvd is a “race way.” There needs to be a stop sign in this stretch of road to deter excessive speeding.

    DPW uses the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for traffic signs guidance. MUTCD specifically indicates that, 'YIELD or STOP signs should not be used for speed control.' In order to enforcethe speed limits on Chamberlayne Ave, DPW will review the signage inventory to ensure proper signage along this segment.
