A crosswalk is not planned. The daily traffic on Three Chopt Rd and the lack of gaps between vehicles will require a pedestrian signal which is not in the budget at this time. DPW has a federal safety project to install "STOP for pedestrians" signs at 55 high incident locations selected across the City. The selected locations had a high number of pedestrian crashes. We will evaluate the effectiveness of the new signs and the sustainability after three months of data and input from the public before installing more signs. VDOT is also planning an effectiveness study with three years of before data and three years of after data.
