Description

I take the pulse to work at the CVS there in the corner and get off on the eastbound side. I have to play real life Frogger to get to the other side for work. People do not stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk even though it is law. Can we please at least get one of those stop sign signs in the middle of the cross walk. It’s make crossing somewhat safer. There is a crosswalk at 24th and main and I should not have to go a block down to cross safely.

M DPW has a federal safety project to install "STOP for pedestrians" signs at 55 high incident locations selected across the City. The selected locations had a high number of pedestrian crashes. We will evaluate the effectiveness of the new signs and the sustainability after three months of data and input from the public before installing more signs. VDOT is also planning an effectiveness study with three years of before data and three years of afterdata.
