Description

Cars routinely drive well over the speed limit and do not yield to pedestrians. A traffic signal is the only way to calm traffic and give pedestrians a chance to cross the street.

    A traffic signal must meet the warrants set forth in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). This is a federal manual used by all fifty states to evaluate traffic control devices for streets open to public travel. I have reviewed the intersection of Laburnum Ave and Gloucester Ave and it does not meet the MUTCD conditions for a traffic signal.
