- Staff · June 17, 2021See response from the Arborist: All, I assessed this tree earlier today. While there is a cavity in the trunk that has developed as a result of utility pruning, the tree is still in otherwise good condition and does not pose an imminent safety hazard. I will contact the forester with Dominion Energy to see if he considers the tree to be a threat to the utility lines surrounding the tree and therefore a candidate for removal. Otherwise, outof an abundance of caution, I will put the tree on a list for our contractor to remove. Because of all the nearby utility lines this is not a tree that our in-house crews would be able to work on. Thanks, Sam Lilly City Arborist MA-5551A
