Description

Please add speed control / cross walk state law sign at this crosswalk on Grove, to the VMFA. Many vehicles/delivery trucks park along sides of road and block view of those trying to cross street at crosswalk. And, crosswalk markings are ambigiuous and not seen by drivers. My family (baby in stroller) has been almost hit by traffic a few times because of these situations.

DPW has a federal safety project to install "STOP for pedestrians" signs at 55 high incident locations selected across the City. The selected locations had a high number of pedestrian crashes. We will evaluate the effectiveness of the new signs and the sustainability after three months of data and input from the public before installing more signs. VDOT is also planning an effectiveness study with three years of before data and three years of after data.
