Description
I live on The 600 block of Northside Ave in Highland park and people are always going 40+ on my street. As more and more families and neighbors with pets move into this area, I think any way to discourage speeding would make the neighborhood feel safer.

- Staff · October 29, 2020Northside Avenue - Road description and traffic operations o A three block section between Meadowbridge Road and Richmond Henrico Turnpike. o Two way traffic with curb parking on both sides of thestreet. o Northside must stop at each of the three intersections in this 1,550’ street section. - Crash history o A seven year history revealed two reported crashes. One in March 2018 where the drivers action was “improper start from parked position”. The other crash was in March 2020 and the drivers action was “eluding police”. - Traffic and speed o A traffic sample on file shows the average daily traffic of 650 vehicles a day. o The speed sample shows average and 85th percentile speedsof 24mph and 29 mph, respectively. - Recommendations o Traffic calming measures such as a speed table is not recommended. o We will ensure 25mph signs are placed in each direction of Northside Avenue.
