Description
About a month or two ago the alley behind our house (where I park) started prepping for paving. They laid gravel throughout the alley then paved the entrance/exit on T street. They then never came back to complete it, but did not. The new pavement has already cracked and created some small potholes. My car sits low to the ground and I cannot keep it parked in the front of my house (street parking)for fear of flood damage, so naturally I park it in my parking space in the alley. I Now have to go in and out exclusively through the U street entrance/exit so that my car doesn’t bottom out on the “new pavement” which made it impossible for me to get in and out now. This has caused numerous problems. I have had issues with having to back up and turn around in other people’s property just to leave out the way I came in. My car just about bottoms out on the U street entrance/exit as well. And when construction workers have to access the alley to work on the houses in the area, it then leaves me with no way out unless I ask them to move (which can be very inconvenient for them as well as for me). I find this unsettling and unsafe. If there were a fire to break out amongst the houses or an emergency were to happen that involves me having to quickly leave, I am afraid that would not be an option. I am requesting that the job that was started is to be completed in a much timelier fashion. You can’t start something, not do it well, then leave the residents to figure out what to do for months on end. I understand that the job was probably started because the alley way was not in the best condition before. Well, it is way worse now. So please come and fix it or better yet just finish it the proper way. The paving that was done has now sunk and become an even bigger gap for cars to have to drive on and it is causing damage to my personal property. Also whenever you all decide to fix it the alley ends need to be graded as well so that cars don’t bottom out and water runoff goes where it should.
