Description

I have requested this already and it was shot down but I strongly urge you to take a look again at making Dinwiddie Ave one lane, one way. Drive down Dinwiddie at 5:30 pm yourself, and you’ll see that two cars cannot easily pass by each other along with the cars parked on either side, the street isn’t wide enough. My neighbors and I have been side-swiped and our side mirrors knocked in multiple times. It will only get worse as the city sells the empty lots it owns in Blackwell and more houses are built. Chicago is one way. Or hey, widen the streets—whichever one you like better.

A one-way street conversion plan for the streets in the Oak Grove Community has been developed. The study borders are Maury St, Harwood St, 15th St and Jeff Davis Hwy. Dinwiddie St is a main collector between Jeff Davis Hwy and Commerce Road and at this time will remain two-way. Speed limit signs and more truck restriction signs are planned. Speed samples do not reflect the need for traffic calming measures such as speed tables. I have alerted the Police Department of the side-swipe crashes.
