Description

Please add bike lane pavement markings down Old Brook Rd. from Azalea Ave. down to North Ave. and continuing down North Ave. to Brookland Park Blvd. Have the bike lane markings branch off at Azalea so that people who live in the apartments on Chamberlayne Ave. can access the grocery stores, and branch off at Westbrook so students at Henderson & Marshall can more safely access the library after school. Finally, from North Ave, have the bike lane branch off down Ladies Mile to Chamberlayne. As these bike lanes would service Henderson MS, Marshall HS, Ginter Park ES, and the Ginter Park Library, they would likely qualify for the Virginia Department of Transportation's Safe Routes to Schools grant which is part of the Richmond 300 Master Plan.

Old Brook and Westbrook are too narrow for bike lanes. Buffered bike lanes were added on North Ave in 2018 between Old Brook and Montrose. North Ave from Laburnum South is too narrow to add bike lanes. Ladies Mile is too narrow for bike lanes throughout the corridor.
