Description
The 5-way intersection of McCloy Street, Maplewood Avenue and the on-ramp to the Powhite Expressway in the Stadium Neighborhood needs to be redesigned in a Vision Zero/pedestrian centric manner. Families need to cross McCloy Street at this intersection to walk their children to John B. Cary elementary school. The current "standard" crosswalk is not sufficient at this location due to heavy/speeding traffic, wide road width and proximity to school.

- Staff · March 26, 2020Crosswalks exist today at the McCloy and Maplewood intersection. No additional crosswalks are planned given the intersection geometrics. The District Council person may consider a project for pedestrian infrastructure improvements along the McCloy Street corridor.
