Description
Traffic on Cherokee has dramatically increased over the past 10 yrs, but so has the speed. Cherokee is a winding road sided by deep ditches & is the main road running through a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood. Speed limit is 25MPH, but cars regularly exceed that driving 35, 45, and upwards of 65 MPH down this road with not a single stop sign! Meridale + Cherokee is at the top of a hill, cars careen down picking up speed, regular accidents occur. Stop sign at that location = slower cars = safer road.

- Staff · December 2, 2019Cherokee has 25mph signs and has $200 enhanced fine signs posted. It also has low shoulder drop off signs. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The intersection of Cherokee and Meridale does not meet these warrants.
